| THE MARKET |
| Turkey has a population of 76,805,524 (ranked 17th in the world). Its food industry has seen steady growth over recent years and Turkish consumers are becoming increasingly demanding. Production in the food and beverage sector reached TRY 8,852 million in 2009, which constituted 18-20 percent of the country’s overall production. There has been significant growth in packaged and processed food, such as ready-to-eat meals and frozen food. Turkey offers excellent investment potential due to its large population, lack of market maturity, favorable long-term economic structure and GDP per capital. |
